Altered Books

Audience: Adults or Kids
​Suggested Schedule: Short workshop with an abbreviated process or six week / 12 hour class 

An Altered Book can be a work of art in itself, or an art journal / sketchbook that grows with you as you explore a variety of media and concepts. As we live in the digital age, there are so many discarded books available to transform. You can choose one and then draw, paint, collage, print, and build into it to create a truly unique and personal creative object. In the short workshop, participants will work on a randomly acquired page spread, and in the extended course, you will delve into your own book and see what happens! Ideas for experiments, techniques, and page development will be shared to get the book started. You decide how and when it becomes complete! Emphasis on experimentation, play, and creating with personally meaningful ideas and materials. ​
